Most of us celebrate the new year at the end of the year, December 31 and January 1. However, in China, they have different ideas on how to celebrate the upcoming year.

The Chinese New Year or Spring Festival was founded in the early 20th century. This special time of year is for celebrating and honoring household and heavenly deities. Also, to honor all of your ancestors. The date of Chinese new year changes every year.

In 1950, which was the first year that they celebrated Chinese new year, the festivities was on January 1st. The entire celebration lasted thirteen entire days. This year, the Chinese New Year was commemorated on Saturday, January 28.
